52 Little Lessons from It's a Wonderful Life

I am a HUGE Christmas addict!

I love everything there is about Christmas. I love decorating, baking, and I love Christmas movies.

One of my all time favorite films is, "It's a Wonderful Life." Since I first saw it as a child, I immediately fell in love. I watch it every year.

When I saw the book, "52 Little Lessons from It's a Wonderful Life," I knew I had to read it. I have been having a lot of stress in my life, and I knew this book would make it just a little . . . brighter.

The book is a short, easy read. It offers 52 observations about life and the film. Some of the observations are better than others. Although the first observation focuses on God, many of them do not. I feel this allows the book to have a Christian focus, but it is incredibly well-rounded at the same time. My two favorite Lessons are:

#6: "Life's Greatest Adventures Are About People, Not About Places or Things" (Welch, p. 21).
I love this one because it reminds me that my family and my friends should be my #1 focus.

#47: "The World Needs More Sentimental Hogwash" (Welch, p. 181).
The world really does need more sentimental hogwash. Sometimes people feel that being overly sentimental makes them look weak or silly. I think being overly sentimental about EVERYTHING is nice in a world where people are too busy to take notice.

I really enjoyed the book, and look back to many of the lessons. I think it would be a perfect read as you count down the 52 days until Christmas morning!
