We often feature kid-television friendly shows. But sometimes mamas need a little time for themselves. One of our favorite shows right now is Jane the Virgin. The movie is NOT family-friendly. But it is FUN. The characters are endearing, the writing is superb, and it is laugh out loud funny!
The basic premise of the show is that Jane (as you can guess, a virgin) is accidentally artificially inseminated. She becomes pregnant and her entire world is turned upside down. Although there are many love stories, the family story of Jane, her mother, and her grandmother is what keeps me watching. The show has been especially fun this season now that Jane is a mother!
Jane the Virgin is on the CW network on Mondays at 9/8 central, but you can also catch it on Hulu or the CW website.
TV Thursday: American Idol
I know, I know, I know. American Idol has been around FOREVER. This is it's last year, and the talent has really been phenomenal. The show has gone through the audition process, and is in it's final 24 (less than that because they eliminated 5 last week), with 12 contestants singing this week.
You can watch on Hulu (which is what we do), and it is VERY family friendly. My youngest (who is 5) loves it just as much as my oldest (12 years old). We love family-friendly television! American Idol is on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8/ 7 central.
