Bluum Box Review

So, this is my first month of getting a Bluum box. The regular subscription rate is $30 for three months plus a $1 shipping fee. Essentially, you would pay $10/ month. Eversave.com was running a daily deal to get a 3 month subscription for $18. I had a $5 gift voucher that I won from bzzagent.com, so essentially I paid $13 for three months, or around $5/ box.

Bluum box sends samples of baby products each month. This is very similar to the other sample box sites out there, but focuses on "baby" products.

I think I would be pleased if I spent $5/ month on the subscription, but would be disappointed if I had paid the full price. This is what was in my box:

3.5 oz Peter Rabbit Organics fruit pouch (APR- $2)
.17 Wedela Wild Rose Soothing Night Cream (APR- $2.50? a 1 oz bottle is $25)
.17 Wedela Almond Soothing facial lotion (APR 2.50? a 1 oz bottle is $25)
Sleep tight Pillow Spritz (APR $2?- A "regular size if $19, however no size is listed for the regular size and a size is not listed on the small bottle that came in the box)
1 Pai Mu Tan Gourmet bag of tea from adagio.com (APR $3? -- 4 bags retails for $13)
and 1, yes ONE chocolate from Uncle peties chocolate (APR 25 cents?-- how to you measure the value of one little chocolate?)

I thought the box overall may be worth $5, but not much more. It came nicelay packaged, and I can see myself using each and every sample (I already at the chocolate).

I have read that other subscribers have been disappointed with the boxes over the past several months, so we shall see what the next month brings. I cannot imagine I will keep receiving the boxes once my subscription runs out.

Wonderful prize pack!!!

I recently won a BEAUTIFUL gift package from The Beauty Box. The specialize in ALL things FABULOUS in beauty! My gift prize included items from Thymes: Room spray, lotion, beauty bar, and shower gel. It smells SOOOOOO lovely!

Allure Sample Society Review . . . good deal, good grief!

As many others did, I really felt that the Allure Sample Society would be on par with places like Birch Box, if not BETTER! You pay $15 a month, and get a box each month with what they claim will be a "deluxe sample."

Their definition of a "deluxe" sample is clearly loosely based. The "deluxe" samples were small . . . most having 3-4 uses perhaps. They DID include a full sized product.

Here is what was included:

1 .14 ounce Icelandic Eye Relief Pen (full sized product-- Retail Value $20)
2. 1.6 Ounce Fekkai Glossing Cream
3. Oscar Esprit d'Oscar 0.1 ounce (yes folks, that IS 1/10 of an ounce!) HOW deluxe!
4. Dermalogica daily microfoliant .45 ounce
5. REN Glycolactic Skin Renewal Peel Mask .5 ounce

This all came in a very nicely packaged box.
The $15/ month includes 1 year of Allure magazine (in theory. Although I signed up at the end of January, I have not received 1 copy of the magazine-- so still waiting).

Overall, it could be seen as an ok value with the one full sized product, but I am guessing many other good shoppers would be able to find the product for at least $15 included with maybe even better samples. I would not consider what was sent "deluxe" samples, but simply samples that you would pick up at any beauty counter.

First month-- disappointing! Lets hope that next month is BETTER!
