Freebie Friday: Registry Gifts

Each year, we bring you a list of wedding registry gifts that you get when you add items to your wedding registry. Some things to note:

1. You do not need to PURCHASE anything, simply add the items to your registry as indicated.
2. Create a registry (with the needed items), print the form, print your registry, and send them to the address listed on the PDF.
3. Some stores allow you to create a birthday, wedding, or anniversary gift list.
4. The link to the store will bring you to the registry page. The links for the brands will bring you to the PDF form to print.

This year, those gifts seem to be very lacking (many have turned into completion gifts only), but here they are:

Gwynnie Bee Look of the Week: SPRUCE & SAGE Mint Rose Fit & Flare Dress

This post contains referral links.

I have been a bit behind on looks of the week! Work, school, and life just got insanely busy! I am sharing a Gwynnie Bee look which is older, but still in circulation (you can tell by the snow). It is a fabulous dress though and would be great now that summer is on it's way.

The SPRUCE & SAGE Mint Rose Fit & Flare Dress  was a super length for me and fit well. I love wearing bright colors since starting with Gwynnie Bee, and although the dress is not the most unique, it is perfect for every day wear. I received tons of compliments, and Spruce & Sage always seems to fit well.

The best part about Gwynnie Bee right now? You can try it for FREE by clicking HEREFREE! You will get a free trial of 3 garments at a time, and can try it out!
This past month I got an upgrade for bring a loyal subscriber through July. I also have a 1 week upgrade because of an error. I am still paying only my regular $37.63 once a month to Gwynnie BeeYou can sign up with Gwynnie Bee at: http://www.gwynniebee.com

Some questions that people have asked in the past include:
Does Gwynnie Bee sponsor your membership? No. We pay our Gwynnie Bee fee every month, as noted above. We have never received a sponsorship for blogging. I receive my free trial membership just like everyone else. :) Nothing more, nothing less.
How many items do you get in a week? It depends greatly on how long I keep garments. Sometimes I don't have anywhere to really go, so I hang on to them for longer, but I would say 2-3 items a week at a minimum.
Do you like everything you get? No. But I will add that it is rare that I get something I will not wear. I have found a cardigan can help A LOT. Every once in a while, I do receive something that looks REALLY bad on me. The fantastic thing is that I can just bag it right away and return it for something else.
Do you photograph everything you get? No. Usually, I wear my GB items to work. With 3 kids to get ready in the morning as well, I don't usually have time to stop and take a photo. What you are seeing is usually a morning where we are running a little early.
How long have you been with GB? Since October 1, 2014. My very first item was SPRUCE & SAGE
Oil Pastel Fit & Flare Dress.

Read of the Week Wednesday: The House Next Door

This post contains affiliate links

The House Next Door from Anne Rivers Siddons was a book recommended to me last summer by one of my online "mom" groups. I have to say, the beginning of the book seemed fairly solid. I enjoyed the general plot line, and the first half of the book (approximately) was a decent read. I was able to get through it at a steady pace, and was enjoying the book. Then, about midway through, things took a turn for the worse, and the book went downhill fast. I did not enjoy the ending (I thought it was rushed and lacking), and it just seemed kind of to run out of steam. The characters never really went anywhere over the course of the book, and they all seemed very one-dimensional, especially everyone outside of the main focus of the book.
The basic premise is of a moderately wealthy couple who has a "haunted" house built next door, and the terror of what their neighbors experience.
However, if you like books about haunted houses, it is a decent read. It is easy to get through, hard to put down, and will keep you reading. I would say it is a good book to read when you are relaxing on vacation.

Renuzit Pearl Scents Review and Giveaway

Are you looking for a way to bring fragrance into your home. We are very careful at our house bringing candles or anything that plugs in because of our 3 cats, 1 dog, and 3 kids. They are constantly knocking things over, spilling things, you name it. It is hard to find an air freshener that works without having a HUGE mess (or worse). I recently received Renuzit Pearl Scents to review, and I LOVE them!

As you can see, the packaging is actually attractive. It does not stick out sitting on my table, and blends with our decor. I will also add that (I know from experience), tipping the entire item upside down and letting it sit like that did not ruin my furniture-- it did not "leak" at all (this was courtesy of the 4 year old). I love the scent, which also acts as an odor neutralizer-- it is mild and just adds a nice long-lasting scent to my living room.

TV Tuesday: When Calls the Heart

Over the long weekend I was sick, sick, sick. And to top it off my Kindle TV was not working (which a whole different story), so I had to plug in the old Roku which would only stream my Netflix Family account (because that is the default). So, I was limited in what I could watch . . . so I picked the first thing that sounded remotely interesting, and happened upon "When Calls the Heart."

Am I completely in love with this show? Yes, I think it is safe to assume at this point that I am completely in love with this show. It is about a wealthy heiress, Elizabeth, who travels out "West" (in this case Western Canada) in order to be a school teacher in a mining town. Set in the early 1900s, the show just captured my heart. There is also a mountie, the school children, and mining widows as the main characters of the show. The show reminds me of Lark Rise to Candleford (if you have not seen it, another fantastic show), or even a little like Anne of Green Gables. It is heart-warming, charming, and enchanting.

Bugs, Shapes and Robots Face Paint for Toddlers

FREE for a limited time! (usually $2.99)

We love the Bugs, Shapes, and Robots Face Paint for Toddlers. What I really appreciated was that each shape had a goal. So rather than just "follow the line," your child will be engaged by trying to bring the line to the next bug to "fill up" their bug jar. There is also a parent area, which I loved navigating. A fun that is free right now!

Read of the Week Wednesday: The Girl on the Train

This post contains affiliate links.

So, we are trying something new this Wednesday. We read a LOT, and since summer is fast approaching, we are hoping to read even more. So, each week, we hope to bring you the book we JUST finished (it will motivate me to read a book a week too)! These will not be books that I was sent to review. Just books that I am casually reading, meaning they caught my eye. :) First book:

The Girl on the Train

http://amzn.to/1PgBj9j

I bought The Girl on the Train mainly because I had heard a lot of buzz about it. I had heard from several people that it was pretty good. I have seen many comparisons to Gone Girl, and so I thought I would give it a shot.

What I enjoyed about it: It was a quick read. It took me just one weekend to sail through the entire book. I was completely engrossed in it, and it held my attention. It was one of those books I did not want to put down. I felt connected to the well written characters, and I liked that the main character grew as the book progressed.

What I didn't like: It was not so much that I did not like something, but it was just not the "wow" factor I was hoping for. I am wondering if my experience would have been different if I had not heard it compared to Gone Girl. But, I did, so I can only go in with that experience (and now YOU have heard that too). I really expected something a little more. Gone Girl completely took me aback. I did not see the book coming, and that is rare for me. I saw the ending to this book coming from a LONG ways. There was nothing that surprised me, nothing that shocked me, and I was hoping for more of that WOW factor.

In the end, I give The Girl on the Train 4 out of 5 stars. It was a good read, and I think the perfect summer beach read.

Mani Monday: I Suck At Nail Art

Well, as much as I try to do nail art, I just don't think I have a steady enough hand to make it happen. I guess this is as good it gets without getting them professionally done. I wanted some bright, Spring color--- I think I may have ended up with an 80s look instead. Why does this remind me of a mix between Miami Vice and Debbie Gibson?
