Review of Tomb of the Ten Thousand Dead

The book Tomb of the Ten Thousand Dead, published by Galaxy Press, is a collection of 3 short stories by L. Ron Hubbard.  The stories are Tomb of the Ten Thousand Dead, Price of a Hat, and Starch and Stripes, and I thoroughly enjoyed each of them.  All 3 stories hail from the golden age of pulp fiction, originally published in pulp magazines.
From the mountains of Pakistan, to the forests of Siberia, to the jungles of Haiti, these tales don’t just take you to far off lands; they show you another time and another mindset.  This is not necessarily the mindset of the tales’ protagonists, but rather that of the author and, more broadly, of the American audience he was writing to.  The books illustrate a time when American’s were adventurers, capable of anything simply by being American, and a world where adventure, glory, and treasure might be found on any continent, in any nation, as long as you had the courage to face the challenges and find it.
The book was a quick and fun read.  Each of the tales has stood the test of time very well. If you like quick and fun tales of adventure, then this book is for you.

April Citrus Lane Review and Coupon Code

We love Citrus Lane. I think it is one of the best kids boxes out there, mostly because of the variety based on age and gender. I wanted to share with you just three of the boxes that came in April to show variations by age. This does not cover all of the variations, as we did not receive an infant box, but it should give you a good idea! Clicking on the links of items listed will give you the location where we got our values.

First, we have the younger toddler box. This appears to have been sent for children about 18-24 months. This is a girl box, but the boy box included a blue car.

Citrus Lane April 2014
In the box:
Total value: $27.33. The boxes are set at $29 a box without a coupon, but DO NOT order Citrus Lane without a coupon! Right now you can CLICK HERE and get your first box for only $9 using the code SPRING20. OR CLICK here and get a longer subscription for as low as $16.35 a BOX!!!! A great deal!

This is the box for a almost 4 year old girl (44 months). I believe this box came to children that were 25 months-47 months (this is only a guess based on other posts).

In the box:
The boy variation of the box received a tool set rather than the flowers.

Right now you can CLICK HERE and get your first box for only $9 using the code SPRING20. OR CLICK here and get a longer subscription for as low as $16.35 a BOX!!!! A great deal!

Last but not least is a box for a 5 year old boy. This box seems to have gone to children between the ages of 48 months-60 months (the highest age they offer).

In the box:
The boy box of this age received a green jump rope.
Total value: $24.66.  As I said before, the boxes are set at $29 a box without a coupon, but DO NOT order Citrus Lane without a coupon! It is not really my style, but the kids absolutely love it, so I have kept it on! It is really fun and goes well with my blue phone! I think I would have liked it better if the saying was on the phone case itself. As always, it came with a sticker and a storage case.

Marvel Matching Game By Wonder Forge Review

Well, it is Good Friday-- which means for a lot of us Mamas, we are at home with all of the school aged kids! Looking for a fun activity? How about a fun board game. We received this Marvel Matching Game by Wonder Forge for review just in time!

We have had a blast playing it. It was easy enough for my 3 year old, but we changed the rules to make it challenging for even the 10 year old! Try variations such as adding extra turns for smaller ones, using less cards, or even playing in teams!

The Marvel Matching Game included all of their favorite superhero characters!

The game took us about 45 minutes total and we had a blast! The perfect way to spend a vacation day from school!

Bath Time Solution: Nuby Tear-Free Rinse Pail

Is bath time a tearful experience at your home. My youngest HATES getting soap in her eyes. We received the Nuby Tear-Free Rinse Pail for review and it has made bath time much easier.

You simply scoop up water, and put the soft tear-free edge next to your child's head and pour the water back. What an amazing innovation in bath time fun!

The best part is, it works fine as a regular water scoop too! My oldest two love it for pouring water in the bathtub!

Nuby Fun Feeding Bowls Review

Are you looking for some additions to your Easter basket? We hate adding candy! My kids rarely eat candy, and they have more than enough toys! Think about adding something fun like some colorful bowls! We received these Nuby Fun Feeding Bowls for review and are loving them!

These bowls come in fantastic packaging perfect for gift giving.
We love how well they stack inside each other. Many smaller bowls topple over when you stack them, and these stay upright in our cupboard!
And check out the cute frogs. There is one on the inside of the bowl too, so I tell the kids to eat their cereal until they can see their frog!

Nuby Fun Feeding Bowls are BPA free making meal times SAFE AND FUN!

Nuby Children's Hangers Review

Are you looking for new hangers for your child's closet that will not break every time you use them? My daughter leaves her hangers on her floor, and they kept getting broken! I was so thrilled to review the Nuby Children's Hangers. They are perfectly sized for smaller clothes!

They come in such convenient sized packs. We got a 10 pack, which was perfect, but you can purchase them in a variety of sizes!
We love how thick and durable they are! No more broken hangers for us!

The best thing is, you can buy Nuby Children's Hangers at a ton of different places, including Amazon!

Out of The Box Sampler April 2014 Review

It has been a while since we ordered an Out of the Box Sampler, but we did this month for their Easter box! I did not see TOO many things that were Easter related, but it was a fun box.

The box is FILLED with samples and is only $19.99. The value is ALWAYS there, especially if you like handmade soaps and candle melts. I don't have a melt warmer, so I was a bit disappointed that 1/4 of my samples were melts. I did like the full sized candle and delicious edibles though!

Another thing that I found odd was some of the items were not in a container, but in a ziploc bag. For example, a spice mix was just a ziploc bag of the spice. This is true of the body scrub as well. These are NOT easy to store, and I thought were on the cheap end, and will probably get tossed since I do not want them creating a mess everywhere.

Compared to last year's Easter box, I thought the items were not as varied and just were not as nice. I was a little disappointed when it arrived. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely $20 worth of samples in the box and there were things I LOVED. I stated I had a dog, and got some lovely dog cookies, so that was super nice. There was even a super handmade chapstick. There were just some items that were cheaply packaged which I think brought down the overall appeal of the box!

This is a fantastic box without commitment at all. You order each month on the website (they do have the option to buy multiple months if you want), and it has a TON of variety. I think it would make a super shower gift for a new bride!

You can buy the OOTBS at: http://www.outoftheboxsampler.com/store/
This month is sold out, and you will need to go to the website around May 7th to purchase the May box. I have their facebook page liked so I always get a friendly reminder :)

April 2014 PopSugar Must Have

This month's PopSugar Must Have was full of value, but everything was just not my style. I am sure for someone a little younger than myself, it would be an AWESOME box. ;)

April 2014 PopSugar Must Have
In the box (clicking on the links below will bring you to the site where we took our "value"):
Total value: $108.98
This is an amazing value! PopSugar Must Have is only $39.95 a month!

April 2014 Birchbox Review and Spoilers

What a "Spring" inspired box this month for Birchbox. The samples were fairly small, but overall I liked the items. We are finally getting warm weather, so it cheered me up even more to get something that reminded me that brighter and sunnier days are ahead.

April 2014 Birchbox
In the box this month:

Total value: $14.62
I paid just under $10 a month for my subscription, so it is still a fantastic value. I will also do 5 reviews for the products above on the Birchbox page, and earn back 50 points, equal to $5 in their shop.
If you sign up now and use code: SFBB100  you will also get back 100 Birchbox points, worth $10 in the Birchbox shop!
